Dr. Roberts clinical work in the area of trauma has extended more than 15 years and includes complex trauma, intimate partner violence recovery and healing from childhood trauma. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and utilizes this and other evidence-based treatments for trauma.
Since 2008 Dr. Roberts has worked with those that are navigating tough life transitions and are in a stage of sometimes painful but restorative growth. This growth could be healing from a harmful workplace, reinvigorating a sense of self, and rediscovering the heart of who we are.
At White Oak Restorative Therapies we work with clients in relationship repair, recovery and rejuvenation. By establishing emotional safety and exploring what is at the root of what we desire in our relationships with loved ones, we move towards better relationship health. Dr. Roberts works with couples and families in sessions and with individuals wanting healthier relationships.
We offer in-person and teletherapy services for individuals, couples and families in North Carolina.

You can still choose to see me as a provider and I can provide you with a "Superbill" that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Payment will be due to therapist at time of service.
While we consider healthy relationships to be essential for overall mental and physical health, unfortunately, family and couples therapy is not considered by many insurance companies to be medically necessary and reimbursed fairly dismally. To be reimbursed, one of the members of the couple or family must be diagnosed with a mental health disorder, which, at times, is not always the case. Additionally, many restrictions that insurance companies have on therapy methods make it difficult for the therapist to practice couples or family therapy effectively, as they have been trained.
We will do all of that work upfront with you! We work with a wonderful biller, Dawn, who, once we receive your insurance information, will check to see what is covered and exactly what you will pay. Some insurance plans have a co-pay which will be told to you prior to your first session. Additionally, some plans require you to reach your deductible prior to sessions being covered.
